Oasis Pressday A/W15

August 9, 2015

Oasis A/W15 Press Day Showroom was my favourite so far! We designed & produced a nostalgic 70’s “Hometown” with a modern Oasis twist. Taking inspiration from british market towns we developed illuminated street lamp clothes rails for the collection, an autumnal park and a town full of shops and gifting areas such  as ‘Hairs & Graces” the Beauty Salon where you could have your nails expertly painted by the illustrated nail, the “Broach & Horse” Pub where there was Prosecco on tap as well as 70’s bar snacks to keep you going, to the “Goody Too Shoes” Engraver where a map of the street where you live was engraved onto a necklace as a keepsake. We also had a red Hillman Imp in the parking area to complete the scene.

Thanks so much to everyone involved in the show: Set Design Assistants: Claudia Forsbrey, Esther Langley, Marie Isobel, Vicky Lees and Alice Rigby. Set Builder: Simon Godfrey & Team. Technical/Lighting Crew: JPSL

Keep in mind, https://midnightpapers.com/ overseas travel requires travel documents, and they must be processed promptly.

Hermès “FLÂNEUR FOREVER” UK Windows

April 3, 2015

Over Christmas were commissioned to design and make the windows for Hermès across all it UK stores. It was a really exciting project for us as the brief was so broad and open to interpretation so after some thought we settled on this:

“Depicting the flaneur’s day dreams and thoughts as he absorbs the city, celebrating the architecture and utopian hopes of the first urban city planners creating a modern metropolises for the future under a blue sky. We create a world in which Hermès products become part of the city scene. The four windows depict scenarios from sepia photos of the city landscape, the flâneur by the river, in the parks, in the grand magasin, at the exhibitions, viewed through rose tinted spectacles.”

and in keeping with Hermès strong traditional craftmanship we set about designing and making intricate wooden architecture inhabited by Hermès products, paper trees and pigeons.  Many people contributed to the making process and it was very exciting to see it develop and come together. The Building Artworking, Paper trees and pigeons where sculpted and made at our studio by Esther Langley, Claudia Forsbrey, Beth Collier, Marie Isobel, Liria Pristine & Monica Storrs. Pewter Pigeon Feet cast by Chris Baxter, Plywood Printing and CNCing at Arc Printers, this was then constructed and installed by Set Builders Andy Knight.

I expect a lot of find out here future joint projects and collaboration.

Molton Brown Mirror Lake, London via Sichuan

March 4, 2015

We where lucky enough to get to work again with the team from Molton Brown on their Sichuan inspired Blossoming Honey suckle & White Tea Campaign, recreating the famous mirror lake as a water set build in London. The process was really exciting first making a miniature model to test the reflections in the water and to see how the water dye worked, to building the whole set full size, layering the mountains and creating a lake shore line from plants to create perspective. The whole set was then magically brought to life by the Sandra Freij’s fantastic photography and lighting techniques with a smoke machine transforming the studio to a hot summers afternoon. Ive always wanted to do a water set… favourite project so far !

I https://writemyessay4me.org/ am collaborative and keen on learning and unlearning.
