Romanian Field Trip

October 11, 2011

Maud Hewlings invited me to go on a research road trip to Romania, with the express purpose of visiting the  Negreni Fair in Transylvania, the largest Romani gypsy fair in the world, where you could buy almost anything. We also drove up into the hill of the Maramures and stopped at the Merry Cemetery in Sapanta. Here the grave stones are all intricately carved and brightly painted depicting either how the person lived or died…

Do you think the technologies went so far that we all need to forget about traditional means of learning, like books and textbooks.
